Calvary Chapel Distinctives
What we Believe
Mission Statement To worship God with all our hearts, to reflect Jesus Christ as we move deeper in our relationship with Him, and to share rich, honest, and healing fellowship with the community of believers. |
We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. We believe that there is one God; eternally existing in three Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is both human and divine, that He was born from a virgin, led a sinless life, performed miracles, died in our place on the cross, shed His blood to atone for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to the right hand of the Father, and is to return personally in power and glory. We believe that humanity is sinful and must be saved. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells Christians and enables us to live a godly life and empowers us with spiritual abilities necessary for building up the church. |

Values
|
Character
To reflect the Lord Jesus Christ in everything. |

Relationship
We recognize the responsibility of the fellowship to assist members in the maturing of their faith and deepening of their relationship with God. This maturing occurs through teaching of the Word, Worship, and Fellowship. a. Word: to study and understand the history, context, meaning and application of God?s Word so that it pierces deeply into our hearts, transforming our lives to reflect God's image. b. Worship: Exuberant, meaningful, creative expression of our love and thanksgiving to God. We do this by coming into His throne room, focusing on Him, giving of ourselves in praise, and allowing Him to transform us as we spend time in His presence. We see worship as the way we are to live our lives and prepare for what we will do in heaven.
c. Fellowship: Opening our souls to fellow believers; becoming intertwined in each other's lives. In the body of Christ we live out our relationship to God with one another. The community of believers is a place to experience healing, honesty, interdependence, and equality with one another in submission to Christ. (Ephesians 5:21) |
|
Service
Discovering and walking in what God has gifted us to do. Identifying passions and callings, then encouraging and facilitating the use of those gifts. We are a gifts-based fellowship. We pray for the leading and direction from the Holy Spirit, discernment and consensus among leadership, and a person raised up with a passion and a calling to fill that need. |
|
Outreach
Reflecting the character of God to others through worship, evangelism, discipleship and missions. |
